Skills for Life

The Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with Skills for Life. We encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we help young people across the County, that’s boys and girls aged 4 to 25 from all cultures and backgrounds to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

Welcome to Dudley District

Dudley District Scouts Support the groups, units and members in the Dudley area, providing support to Adult Volunteers and youth Members – be that financial support, experience or general help. Dudley Scout District was formed in 2007 as a Merger of three historic districts: Dudley Central, Dudley West and Dudley North. We comprise of Scout Groups, Explorer Units and Scout Network in the Dudley Area and are constantly growing. We form part of West Mercia Scout County.

Scouting is all about learning whilst having fun and offers over 200 different activities. Young people are encouraged to stretch themselves, do their best, discover new talents and reach their potential. This may be during a weekly meeting participating in a challenging activity, discussing individual rights, investigating healthy lifestyles or working in the community or it could be during one of many night’s away adventures our Scouts enjoy every year.

Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
