International Cubs Trip to Dordogne

Do you know a Young Person who’d love to be a participant in our International Trip to Dordogne in France next year?

Section Leaders and Parents in West Mercia… we’re recruiting NOW for Young People to be part of the West Mercia Cuboree – Dordogne!

The Young Person must be:

  • Born between Born between February 9th 2015 to August 1st 2016 (inclusive).
  • Currently a Beaver or Cub Scout in West Mercia County.
  • Have attended a minimum of two nights away experiences away from family (can also be from outside of Scouting).
  • Available to travel between 1st August 2025 to 9th August 2025.
  • Able to attend the selection which will be held over the weekend of the 13th/14th April 2024 (more details to follow)
  • Able to raise the necessary funds (max. £850) by a combination of fund raising, self-funding and support from your local Scout Group and/or District, with possible extra costs of clothing, spending money and pre-events (camps, sleepovers, days out etc) prior to trip.
  • Able to attend the first meeting of all young people, parents and leaders which will be within 6 weeks after selection date to be confirmed.
  • Happy to undertake a 15 hour coach journey and Ferry Crossing.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
