As an Annual task in the district; those of you who manage your own premises will be aware of the need to complete these.

The Safety Team at HQ are running online evening workshops giving an overview of premises management and the use of the premises audit tool. The workshop will guide you through some of the issues related to running your own premises safely as well as those who rent out a building for the use of scouting.

GSLS should have received a notice from the safety department at HQ concerning reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in Scout HQ’s.

A number of concerns have been raised with them and they are looking at the next steps to take in order to support groups and ensure that the risk is properly managed. An email may have already been sent out to GSL’s, Group Chairs, Premises Managers and Activity Centre Managers requesting more information. Any questions please get in touch.
