STEM Course for Young People on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th March 2024
Hurricane Mission – West Mercia STEM Course
Supported by the Royal Air Force Youth & STEM Team, we will be running a STEM Course for Young People on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th March 2024 at County HQ in Wolverhampton.
Criteria for your Young Person:
– They must be able to attend BOTH days from 9am – 4pm.
– They must be no younger than 13 and no older than 15 during the course.
– They must bring their own packed lunch.
The course will be based around Lego and the theme is Humanitarian Aid. It will be all around delivering cargo in a container in a vehicle after multiple earthquakes. You will mostly work in pairs using practical skills along with RAF iPads. We will also provide any Scout/Explorer badge criteria that is met as part of this work. It will go towards your Bronze Crest Award and is a 10hr Advanced Project.
We only have 30 places for this course which is funded by the RAF. Places will be confirmed shortly after the form closes via random choice. Due to the funding of the course, we require your Home Postcode which will be shared with the RAF – however any other information will not be.
Section Leaders/Group Scout Leaders should refer the form to Parents/Guardians for completion.
